Le case automobilistiche hanno scelto di imbrogliare per vendere automobili piuttosto che rispettare la legge sulle emissioni, ha detto il processo “dieselgate”.

Car manufacturers decided they would rather cheat to prioritise “customer convenience” and sell cars than comply with the law on deadly pollutants, the first day of the largest group action trial in English legal history has been told.

More than a decade after the original “dieselgate” scandal broke, lawyers representing 1.6 million diesel car owners in the UK argue that manufacturers deliberately installed software to rig emissions tests.

Well yes. Humans got to the top of the foodchain by finding ways to game systems.

Any system that doesn’t have extensive oversight will be cheated, loopholed and out manoeuvred.

I was waiting for this. VW got caught first but they won’t be the last.

What I find odd is why is this going through court rather than the governments doing the investigation themselves? If anything, the government are the ones who lost out on company car (BIK) tax, and potential VED. The end consumer likely didn’t buy their cars based on Co2 emissions.

However, the government were quick to make us all pay with the clean air zones, ULEZ, etc.

I’ve had two Fords, both diesels, and the emissions has never been a thing I’ve looked at but having said that, the current car I have is a 2012, has done 224,000 miles, and only cost me £1400 in January.
