All politicians, on both sides, should know better.

Wilders has been under threat of violence for well over a decade, and while I abhor that fact, it’s also never stopped him from being the politician he is during that time. In this particular instance, I think he’s taking advantage of the threat to weazel his way out of public debate for the upcoming elections come the 29th. The current castrated government being as dysfunctional as it is falls mostly on his shoulders, and he knows it.

He made a lot of empty promises during the last election cycle, like removing the deductible from healthcare insurance packages etc. He knows he will get called out on those promises now, do he is avoiding debates.

So there is no indication that he was a target and he’s just talking to try to make this about himself? Sounds like something he would do.
