Please everyone donate if you can, consider becoming a donor if you’re not already. When you get that text after you’ve donated to say that your donation has just been issued to such-and-such a hospital, it really makes your day. It costs you nothing but could save someone’s life. Thank you.

Please explain. I have walked into a travelling blood donation clinic and was turned away as I did not have an appointment. They said I should sign up to their system and will get called to attend when they need donors. They have never called / emailed.

For those donating blood how do you do it, especially if you do not live near a permanent donation clinic?

Just done the eligibility test and apparently I can’t donate as I had cancer but I’ll phone them as there are some exceptions

Please consider donating, found out I have a rare blood type when donating and was told it was used for a baby in icu. It motivates me every time, plus guilt free chocolate afterwards

you cant actually make an appointment if you are a new donor. It is very confusing.

Let people do walk ups again and the number donating will increase, making appointments is too much hassle for most people.

Not allowed until at least 27th – they need a much larger donor base instead of relying on the same people time and again

I used to give regularly before a medical issue ruled me out, I can start donating again next June. I would highly recommend anyone that can donate, do donate.

Too bad I’m not eligible and I have AB, the not so common type.

I’ve a rare blood type. I also have mad cow disease from eating a Big Mac in the UK in the 90s. Did they change that thing at all?

Why not offer financial incentives if supplies are low? €10-20 a pint or something low. Would get a lot more people motivated, particularly in the current cost-of-living crisis.
