I’m actually surprised that it’s so low for us.

Lol. 33%? The numbers have to be so divided between the leading party vs opposition supporters.

Is there some commonality between those countries who high trust? Hoping someone smarter than me can contribute.Â

My thougs on this:
– Trusted good media: good
– Trusted bad media: bad
– Untrusted good media: bad
– Untrusted mad media: bad
And my question on the data: does this map represents people don’t trusting bad media, or people don’t trusting any media at all?

i have so many issues with Polish numer that I don’t need to check the research method to be sure it’s completely wrong
I mean you don’t go check the scientific paper saying that the sun orbits around the earth if you know that conclusion is completely wrong right
it’s lower than that. much lower. in age gap 20-35 is at best 10%

I’d love to see if the level of trust is co-related to ratio of private / public media, diversity of owners of medias, nature of owners.

Most of our media is under German or US control (not acceptable in independent countries). The amount should be lower.

Level of trust in *all* news media is a weird thing to ask as it includes reputable public and private outlets as well as yellow press, clickbait factories and alt right rage farms.

I would love to see how the question for this survey is formulated. Is it just about the media in general or specific types of news?

In such a polarized world taking with a grain of salt what news say, without diving into the rabbit hole of conspiracies, is a good thing. However that map should be completed with the level of trust in news coming from non mainstream online sources, social networks, etc to get a better picture of whether the distrust grows spontaneously or it’s triggered from elsewhere.

Way too high. Hopefully exaggerated for here.

What’s the source?Â
It’s seems very high for Ireland, currently in the middle of a presidential election where one candidate is being smeared and asked hypothetical questions like “would you employ a rapist” while the government backed candidate is being asked where she stores her toaster.
Oh and the national broadcaster just happened to get a 750 million euro no string attached bail out by the government after years of overspending and putting top people on obscene salaries, and all newspapers in the country were recently given 0% vat as a reward for positive press from the government.
I’d wager it’s a lot lower in Ireland, unless you are asking government supporters who gaslight everyone elseÂ
