Michael Collins

There is graffiti on a Michael Collins mural that got put up on Abbey Street, Dublin. It says “Traitor”. I am familiar with the arguments of those that might have sprayed it and I can see their point.

He’s also a rather ideologically vacuous figure whose politics are rather ill defined and shallow. And those types of people lend themselves to “pragmatic” U turns and sell out behaviour.

De Valera screwed him multiple times, but in the grand scheme of things Collins held back the republican movement.
