Are the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans considered a threat to public order or is the concern that there will be violence and protests against them from British people?
Or both?
Yeah after the Manchester attack probably best not to have an event with many Jews in one place, especially in Birmingham.
Can’t imagine the police have the resources to handle this considering how underfunded Birmingham’s city services have been.
Sensible decision that should have been made a long time ago as I’m sure there are some half decent Tel Aviv fans that have wasted money on flights and that. But they’re a troublesome bunch, and there must be a hundred thousand Muslims within half hour walk of Villa Park. It wouldn’t have gone well I imagine.
A true achievement! Israel has produced football hooligans so racist and violent, that they can’t be allowed into the country known for its racist and violent football hooligans.
If we had a racism Olympics, most countries would be struggling to compete with Israel—but maybe maintaining an [apartheid](https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/09/19/world-court-findings-israeli-apartheid-wake-call) should count as an illegal performance enhancing drug in that kind of competition.
Probably wise looking at the local population around Villa Park. This wouldn’t be a good mix.
