L’odore era davvero disgustoso, ma il forte sapore salato di pesce era in buona armonia con la dolcezza del pane, della panna acida, delle patate e dei sottaceti all’aneto. (Anche altre persone lo mangiavano con cipolla e pomodoro.)

Yeah, they’re not too bad tasting. But the smell is pretty horrible. It’s why you should be careful with how you open it. The smell really lingers if it gets into stuff.
Why pickles? Where’s the tomato, onion and creme fraiche?
As it should be, when you eat it as intended.
