Heartbreaking stuff. When mothers are turning to crack in growing numbers, it’s not a drug problem it’s a system failure. Where’s the support before it gets this bad?
There’s a great service for young mothers affected by Crack Cocaine in Tallaght called CARP, they are in this documentary https://youtu.be/5CshmLO17cQ?si=Pi20ZJQgzdKBuzbu
Helps get the housework done
Don’t smoke the coke

All over the city centre too. It’s an epidemic and an emergency at this point, and yet, not one politician is bringing up stronger minimum sentences for dealers in debates. Not one politician is advocating for punishing those causing this. Judges continually releasing crack dealers and street tablet dealers on suspended sentences.
It’s easy to gloss over the issue when you aren’t directly impacted via family or friends, your only exposure to it then would be the crack junkies(100x worse than heroin junkies, more aggressive to get their fix, and crack just amplifies the aggression). If the Gardai and government can’t step in, I can only hope communities take matters into their own hands and drive drug dealers out of their areas like the concerned parents against drugs in the late 80s and early 90s. The status quo of brushing it under the rug and handing out symbolic suspended sentences won’t change anything and will allow things to fester and get worse.
Did we not discuss Crack Cocaine here a few weeks ago, where almost everyone denied it was a problem?
Personally find it very, very hard to have sympathy for rich coke addicts. Ye knew exactly what coke is, ye had a choice and there was never a gun put to your head.
Can they tackle the person living below me too ?
This is the last thing we want. When you see how it has affected people outside this country, it is not a good prospect at all.
It brings me back to the time heroin came to this country. Prior to that, the worst you would see is someone who had sniffed toilet duck, maybe some glue, or perhaps petrol. That was as bad as it got, and though that was bad, it wasn’t an epidemic and it was not at scale.
A lot of people thought on heroin “Sher it doesn’t affect me, I don’t care”. Sweet mother of Jesus were they wrong. It was a right bastard to battle back against. I think people forget what it was like in our major urban centers, right across all the daily activities of life. This was before you even thought of anyone but yourself. If you had it in you to think about others, it was worse. Those poor communities balls deep in the problem really felt it, and all the children affected.
I know over the past few years you might have seen the odd guy step into a coffee shop to get wind cover so he could light a crack pipe, but I didn’t realise how deep it has gotten recently.
Crack cocaine is not good at all.
I’m always behind on the trends. Sure I’m only getting into contouring over the last few months. Haven’t even started Bridgerton yet.
Relax, it’s just a little crack.
We’ve finally found the people voting for fine geal
as soon as i heard of that cole was overtaking ireland i had a sinking pit in my stomach because of what’s to come! i fucking knew it.
crack is fucking insane! coke is whatever. it’s no big deal. yeah you can get caught up in it and ruin your life but whatever!
crack is absolute insanity. it’s a short hit and it skews the brain in a different way as a result. smoking it speeds up the contact and gives you an instant high. it’s so much more powerful than coke. and it creates monsters.
what i am truly fear is meth.
coke and crack are child’s play! but here’s the kicker. why sell crack when you can just sell the coke that’s sued in it to banker bros? you don’t!!
you substitute meth to crack addicts and they take it hook link and sinker.
oh, i work in addiction services in the US.
so, being a good irish catholic and believing in hell and whatnot – meth is the gateway to hell. it’s the most evil i’ve ever seen. it catches people in a trance and won’t let them go until they are dead. and in that journey to death you are capable of the most violent and dark expressions of humanity.
ireland, get your shit together! this is real. lobby for addiction services. integrate it. because it’s coming. fuck.
