      > Ms Goddard warns against a perceived move by the Home Office to broaden its scope from group-based sexual abuse into other forms of child sexual abuse. She warns: “This inquiry needs to remain focused on this specific subsection of offending.”

The thing is, in reality I doubt the institutional failings in this case are that different from those in other CSA cases. I don’t think the failings are in fact that different from those identified as failings when it comes to cases of abuse by individuals, abuse in care homes, etc.

Edit: and looking at [her letter of resignation](https://x.com/fionagoddarduk/status/1980169972413607999) there is the **outright lie** that victims in “other areas of CSA or CSE” have not “experienced decades of failure from statutory services”.

There’s also her line that “I was also deeply saddened to learn that someone appointed to a senior position within the inquiry had publicly expressed personal views on grooming gangs that directly contradict findings in the Casey report and survivors lived experiences”. Considering her right-wing political history (just look at her Twitter account), this looks a bit like “they appointed someone who doesn’t have the right views on Muslims” to me…
