Great news and frankly long overdue that we began looking seriously at investing in UK infrastructure. After 15 years of rot and decline at the hands of the tories it feels good to see Britain finally building things again.

Top work by Reeves overseeing all this. Doing what none of the lightweight tory chancellors could do.

If all the Shares that were issued have already been bought what benefit is it to a company that it’s shares are traded between shareholders.

Seems like it is just an ongoing cost to service the dividends.

I must be missing something obvious.

The key bit here is the mention of private markets – the public markets like AIM and the other London Stock Exchange markets are different. Private markets are generally not available directly to retail investors. This is the new bit, as I understand it. It means that stuff that doesn’t end up on the public markets can now seek investment from pension funds and insurers. Not entirely sure what kind of thing that is in practice, though.

AAAAAAAAA that doesn’t sound good at all. Yes it could be used for great growth it also means one man’s fuck up will effect millions more people….

This just sounds like PFI but we’re also just fucking ourselves. I have always felt private pensions were just the elites way of getting the tax payer to prop up the stock market and extract wealth by proxy
