It’s a sick game. How could the US let this guy into office.
Brenson is on the good side of history.
He is wrong about the Budapest Memorandum. And that makes his point, no matter how good, much much weaker.
There are two, and exactly two, ways for Ukraine to actually achieve safety once this war is halted: NATO, or nukes. Personally, I’m agnostic as to which way it goes.
Small fix: it wasn’t assurances but guarantees. It says assurances only in English while in Ukrainian and russian it says guarantees (гарантії and гарантии). And all examples have equal power as it said in the beginning of the document.
