Wouldn’t it be more efficient for them to use big boats?
Genuinely curious how. I thought these boat crossings were costing all their life savings to do and run by gangs. Maybe I’m being naive but article talks (I’ll admit I only skimmed it) about this person being terrified of the gangs and where did they get the money from? Something isn’t adding up to me
Let him in.
That sort of determination should be respected.
The first real test of the scheme: if this man is not immediately deported back to France then the scheme will not succeed as a deterrent, and the boats will continue to come.
It’s good that the Home Office makes this clear in their statement: Individuals who are returned under the pilot and subsequently attempt to re-enter the UK illegally **will be** removed.”
The story is laughable.
Man illegally enters France, gets illegally smuggled into the UK, gets sent back to France, illegally returns to the UK again, only this time with a sob story about feeling unsafe in France due to the people smugglers he actively sought out and engaged with to come here, twice.
The government need to make an example here, because that’s what the smugglers are doing, they’re telling their clientele that it doesn’t matter if the UK returns you, we’ll just send you right back again.
So he has entered this country illegally, not once, but twice. He clearly does not respect the laws of this country so why do we have to indulge this legal rigmarole – throw him out permanently.
This also used to happen before we left the EU to understand why it has been tried again just must be to sate the folk that scream send ‘em back to france
Jokes like this will result in a joke Reform government which we will find is no joke at all.
What? I never saw this coming. I simply can’t believe this happened.
We should let him stay. That gumption and determination is what this country needs
