My friend has artificial grass and it looks awful i don’t see the appeal, mowing a lawn isnt that much work its like 20minutes each month in summer
I’m not a snob about many things, but I will always look down on people who do this to their turfs. Absolutely unjustifiable.

Most of the comments on here are about ‘convenience’ or it ‘looks nice’. The real concern with it is that artificial grass is bad for the environment due to the manufacturing process, microplastic shredding and has a negative effect on ecosystems. Its production relies on fossil fuels, it creates microplastics that pollute waterways, and it prevents rainwater from reaching the soil, harming soil health and wildlife that would otherwise use real grass for food and habitat. In summer, it gets extremely hot and kills insects, that are already on the decline. Insects are a vital food source to certain animals, and some are essential for pollination.
Also, it’s tacky AF…………..

Laughing at all the shots fired at the fake plastic shite. It you want something that requires less mowing and maintenance than grass get a clover lawn. Doesn’t grow as high and great for the bees!
One of my favourite things while walking the dog is to laugh at the crappy fake faded grass that’s got weeds growing in/through it.
You spent all that money on your maintenance free green outside carpet and you still get weeds. Honestly, I couldn’t be more happy for you.

I hate artificial grass. I have a pond, so my garden is always full of little frogs and bugs. I love having these little critters in my garden. Also flowers for the bees!
Hate the stuff. Microplastics seeping into the ground, makes gardens ecological wastelands, gets to a million degrees in the heat and if they’ve got pets, the stuff fucking stinks from animals going to the toilet on it.
Maybe it’s a sign of my age, but since I moved to where I am now, I absolutely love having a real grass lawn and caring for it/striving to improve it

People with artificial grass must really hate the natural world.
The previous owners astroturfed our garden. We were going to take it out as soon as we moved in but then we had a house fire and lost our jobs, so that moved way down on the priority list!
If you have the time to invest into a green lawn with mowed stripes and perfect borders, well done, you are likely retired 😂 some of us just want nice looking gardens with no hassle, obviously, as there is so much of it according to the source.
