      For context: This is Orban’s “Peace march”, which appears to be significantly smaller than the opposition’s demonstration that is still ongoing. This photo does not represent the people of Hungary.

      Same slogans in the french far right in the 1930 – we don’t want to die for Dantzig.

      Gives a bit of a perspective about how treacherous such slogans intrinsically are.

      For making it clear:

      in the first picture demonstration in1956 during the revolution against the Soviet regime

      in the second picture demonstration of Orbán’s party (so called “Peace March”) today standing with Russia

      And there is a much bigger oppositional march going on right now at the Heroes square

      That is an understandable but misleading sentiment. We will most likely never even be asked to “die for Ukraine”. Being ready, increasing defense capabilities in Europe, does not increase the probability of going to war with Russia.

      In 1956 Ukraine was part of the army that attacked Hungary and Poland. In fact the last scumbag to leave Hungary in 1989 was Ukrainian LT.Gen. Viktor Silov.

      It’s funny they call sending money and weapons ‘dying’ while making it more possible for Russia to annex Ukraine and then making Hungarians die for real when they are attacked by Russians who they think are their ‘friends’

      The proud Hungarians fighting and dying for freedom against the Russians in 1956 would be ashamed if they knew about their treacherous descendants.
