Contesto: le persone si lamentano da tempo del fatto che il nuovo sistema di pagamento Telcell per il trasporto pubblico è ingombrante e rende quasi impossibile per i non cittadini utilizzare il trasporto pubblico.
Come cittadino ho seguito il processo di registrazione e conferma della mia identità sull’app Telcell, ma poiché uso raramente la metropolitana… l’unica volta che ne ho avuto bisogno non sono riuscito a capire come caricare i soldi sulla carta e ho finito per percorrere la distanza a piedi.
Oggi ho pensato di provare semplicemente a toccare la mia carta di credito al cancello e eh… ha funzionato!!! Yerevan ora sembra Londra o Tokyo!
Comunque non ho idea del perché il Comune (o Telcell in questo caso) non lo pubblicizzi… ma puoi semplicemente toccare la tua carta o il telefono per utilizzare i trasporti pubblici!

Yeah but it’s not going to work if you have a foreign bank card. You have to use the terminals and buy a Telcell metro card if you’re using a foreign bank card.
Still works only for physical cards, bs

Brother, no you can’t tap your phone. You also can’t use foreign cards in any capacity. And yes, they did advertise this feature. It also only works half the time with half the cards, only physical cards and only Armenian. Half of Armenian physical cards work half the time.
London and Tokyo, man. Even the Moscow transport system is so many universes ahead of this it’s insane. Hell, even Georgia.
Also, when you top up your transport card in the terminal it’s not even instant. I usually have to wait up to 5 minutes for it to work.
Oh and – congratulations. Your passport you filled into the TellCell app. It’s now probably data being sold to the highest bidder.
The authors of this fucking reform should be in jail. London or Tokyo.
I don’t think it works with your phone/apple pay/google pay. At least not yet. And afaik, foreign cards are still not accepted which does make it extremely annoying for non-citizens to use our public transport.
