It is another Bloomberg piece on China. Given Bloomberg’s track record, best to skip and look for answers elsewhere.

Wait hold up! People in this sub said that we were owning the chinese when we stole Nexperia?? Where is the winning? We’re getting btfo’d by the chinese for bowing down to the orange menace,

Why is it forcing? Look like a fair deal. If they want these minerals they need to follow the rules

Where are all those people arguing it’s silly to stop trading with China?

Or that the US is just as bad or worse despite having its soldiers based on German soil for protection?

These same naive people are the reason why China went from being dirt poor to become a superpower, that is competing in the AI race while EU isn’t even in it.

Don’t worry, I’m fair. I also blame the same short-sighted capitalist zealots in the US. These people are traitors that strengthened China.

Investigate their money trails and you’ll find CCP funding.

      And the pope is catholic.

      Same old same old.

But ti be fair they were a bunch of idiots

    6. This is to prove: you are not using rare earths to make weapons.

I mean, ‘forcing’ is a pretty strong word. It’s a condition – if you want to export rare earths, you have to hand these over. You are not forced to against your will, it’s part of a deal. If you deem the deal unfair you can walk away from it.

They decided to do capitalism and they are doing it well !!

Now if us Canadian’s can get our act together, we can supply the world with all the rare metals and natural resources Europe and the world wants and needs….to bad our politicians give too much power to minority groups here in Canada.

Let’s face it, while Trump is busy tearing down America, to try and resurrect it as a FACIST nation, China is rapidly building itself up stronger, to the point, that China is now probably closer to being a superpower, than the deconstructed America is at this point in time. And Trump and the MAGA, are so blinded by their quest for POWER, over Americans, and eventually the WHOLE world, that they can’t see the forest for the trees. And America gets weaker and weaker, every day Trump stays in power. But there are a LOT of other countries who WANT to see America turned into a wasteland, besides Trump and his MAGA GOONS.

I love how EU is an old whore that will spread her legs to whoever ask her to

A century of humiliation should have been made a Millenium

    14. What? Dependance on China could go south?

      WHO would have thought?! /s

    15. Technical-Art4989 on

Makes sense. How else do you enforce rare earth usage. Else don’t buy easy.

    16. mijiyouzi on

Quite simply, these companies can not import rare earths from China.

    17. Transkriptions on

Time to open the mines for the rare earth deposits in Sweden asap, skip the fucking approval process and say yes right now.

Ignore China. Come to Canada, we have everything you need without the pesky totalitarian government.

    19. NARVALhacker69 on

They are smart and we are the idiots for not doing exactly the same to them and to the US, with the rise of China and Trump’s presidency the old consensus of free trade is over, we’re not in the 90s anymore and the EU must adapt

    20. razvanciuy on

Because 90% of all rare elements processing plants are in China. Want lots of copper? China.

The situation is there. You can imagine how China will leverage that advantage.

Less than 10% people here actually read the article, less than 5% understand what the deal really means, less than 1% have critical thinking to question the source and claim. Eating fearmongering titles as daily propaganda meals like no tomorrow is a huge problem that Europeans need to solve before making any meaningful progress.
