Sensible move.
Anyone dismissing flu as a trivial thing has never had it. I thought I’d had flu loads of times until I actually did get it about 15 years ago and it poleaxed me for a week.
It’s a killer for the vulnerable and those with other health conditions.
Can confirm. I’ve had the flu all week and this year’s strain is a son of a bitch.
As usual the anti vaxxers are out in force… Just seen a vid on TikTok where loads of parents were scare mongering everyone about the flu vaccine. 🙄
While I’m certainly not an anti-vaxxer (quite the opposite) am I misremembering things or was it the case even just a few years ago that kids never really needed a flu jab and weren’t really able to get one?
I never had one as a kid, and I remember in the 00s at university (being terrified I’d get flu and no one, especially not my useless housemates, would be able to look after me) I had to pay for one and it was a massive ballache even trying to sort it out.
I still don’t understand how people who are 40-50 years old Today managed to survive being young without a flu vaccine…
Our kids school will give it early November. I hope it won’t be late.
The flu vaccine is tried and tested and proven to be safe. I’ll never understand people who would rather their child get ill.
