Queste gabbie risalgono al 1536 e furono utilizzate per esporre i corpi di tre leader anabattisti che furono torturati e giustiziati dopo la repressione della ribellione di Münster, un tentativo di instaurare una teocrazia. I corpi rimasero nelle gabbie per circa 50 anni come monito per eventuali futuri ribelli.

      Yeah. Pretty normal back then. Whenever you walk over a cute old market square in Europe its weird to think it has probably been used for untold amount of executions. including the horrifying ones like breaking on the wheel.
