Dismounting infantry before sending a tank into an assault makes sense. It was awkwardly done, but I’ve experienced cold and fatigue. Simple physical tasks become awkward and clumsy. The brain fogs… judgement suffers.
Add to this the noise of the engine, rendering communication difficult, plus a sense of urgency, knowing that a stationary vehicle is a sitting duck.
The scariest one is the tank driving into the water at the end of the video. If it flips, that’s a horrible way to die.

I believe the story behind that last fuck up was russian tank crews using soviet era maps.

the effect on the ground of the shell over penetrating really is an effect thats not really showed much or often in film or games
