La mia connessione Internet via cavo Vodafone ha smesso di funzionare intorno alle 14:00 di ieri. Dopo due ore, ho chiamato l’assistenza clienti per chiedere l’opzione Always On (il backup mobile). Si sono rifiutati, dicendo che è un problema che riguarda tutta la Germania e che la loro infrastruttura “non è in grado di gestirlo” se troppe persone la usano. Ok, va bene, qualunque cosa. Poi mi hanno detto che il problema sarebbe stato risolto entro le 22:00. Ho aspettato fino alle 22:30… ancora niente. Sono andato a letto sperando che tornasse la mattina ma no, ancora niente internet. Onestamente è pazzesco come questi grandi operatori come Vodafone e Telekom facciano prezzi premium ma non riescano nemmeno a garantire una connessione stabile.

A giudicare dai commenti, sembra che il supporto Vodafone stia diffondendo informazioni inesatte. Diversi agenti mi hanno detto due volte che c’è una “interruzione della connessione internet via cavo in tutta la Germania”, il che chiaramente non è il caso.

No, there’s not.
It’s not the entire country. I have Vodafone cable internet and it’s working fine for me right now. And in fact it’s very stable over the time I’ve had it, more then a year now. Their mobile service leaves something to be desired, but I can’t rightfully complain about the internet. Whoever you were talking to doesn’t know what they are talking about. The entire country isn’t down and even if it were, their system “not being able to handle it” is pure bullshit. It’s funny that you bring up premium prices because I pay less for internet here than I did in my home country.
Anyway, pretty much all home internet is prone to outages at times. Once the outage is over, have them look at your modem to see if your signal stats are good. If you want backup internet, by all means, get a dual WAN router or gateway. Go get a 4G/5G router of your choice and have at it with a prepaid plan or something. Vodafone can’t stop you. If you’re really unhappy, vote with your feet and get a new provider.
No Germany-wide outage to my knowledge. Restart your router and check again.
We have also issues in the north with our local provider. Around nd the same time it started
There is no nation wide outage, but that the lines might be over provisioned is. That’s also why your contract has a much lower minimum speed than the advertised speed, they can’t provide that when everyone is using it.
In your case support needs to look into it, if it’s a client side or provider side issue, are there any Street works or renovations at your house?
