Why would they want to come here? The 3 W’s are all better in Australia. Wages, Weather and Wombats

    2. I’m guessing the traffic has increased significantly the other way of late. The most patriotic thing anyone could do is head for the colonies in the current climate, both economically and politically 😬

I’m in my early 30s and 6 or 7 of the lads I grew up with are over there. None went with the intention of staying but they’re all much happier there. Another few went and came back but they still don’t have a bad word to say about the place.

Having been raised in Australia, I’ve got some news for you if you’re heading over there…

Finding somewhere to live? Good luck with that. In some parts, there are over 50 applicants for one rental property.

Think the cost of living here is tough? Yeah, it ain’t no picnic there either. Catholic priests will abuse you less than your wallet!

Got any relatives here that you might need to pop back to see if something happens to them…you’re on the other side of the planet, little buddy! It will take you over a day just to get back to the world!

    6. You know what is most absurd about all this bullshit war on migration? There’s about to be a complete change in the global geopolitical situation where nations will start competing to attract migrants.

Migration has always been a product and contributor to economic growth, prosperity and development. Not just this century, but since human civilisation started. We live in this weird bubble in the EU/UK where we don’t want migrants to come and work here, where we don’t want to see any old industries close, where we hate cuts on services and tax increases even more, where we absolutely detest the waiting lists in the NHS and so on. Guess what folks, it all hangs together with demographics and our demographic performance indicators are quickly switching to red in the coming years if there is no immigration.

These figures are projected on annual migration (in) of about 380k: [https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationprojections/bulletins/nationalpopulationprojections/2022based](https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationprojections/bulletins/nationalpopulationprojections/2022based)

And even with those numbers there’s challenges coming our way in terms of workforce, tax-base, productivity, as the percentage of pensioners grows.

I know data and statistics isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but it would be so enlightening to hear and see our politicians actually explain this shit to the broad population.
