  1. Do you have personal liability insurance? Who send you the bill, what agency? Did you call someone when you noticed it or how did this person introduce himself?

    >I saw that oil was leaking from the crankcase and there was an oil line all over the road.

Well, you are liable for the damage you cause and not reporting this immediately is not being a responsible citizen. It was your duty to immediately report this. Doesn’t matter if you are ‘just working here’. That’s a wild excuse.

    >The amount is not normal.

Uhm, indeed. In fact it’s rather low for a 3km long oil spill.

You could even get send to prison for being an environmental vandal.

    >Now the bill came for 6200 euros.

    Who sent the bill?

    How come?

    > Is there any way to somehow mitigate or avoid that entire amount?

Have you talked to your insurance?

    >I am from Lithuania, I just work here and I do not have German citizenship.

How is that relevant? You live here.

6000 eur to clean oil from the road? HAHAHAHA, lol. I mean, sorry buddy, but your government is bizarre. So, instead them warning you and giving you a chance to fix this, they auto-6K raped you economically? Wow. Realpolitik indeed, lol!

Umm, idk how to help you in this, it’s just – wow. Maybe just move to Austria or Switzerland, that’s another universe there, if you have that possibility.

If you have possibility to fix it, ask- it’ll cost you no more than 100/200EUR maximum.

    Insane.

p.s. you can downvote me all you want neo-democratic quasoids, but its a matter of reality and a lucidity check here. Which many Germans don’t even have anymore. Umm, btw, also- while kids are getting 3000 euros fines for downloading some Hollywood film, I sell the German government, embassies, BND, literally IPTV, pirated licenses for Windows/Office, etc. Why? Just because I can.

    LONG LIVE STASI!

I mean you spilled oil for 3km ..m cleaning that costs a bit of money.

    > Is there any way to somehow mitigate or avoid that entire amount

Do you not have an liability insurance for yourself / in this case for your car (german would be KFZ Haftpflichtversicherung)

    > When I returned to the yard, I saw that oil was leaking from the crankcase and there was an oil line all over the road.

And you just thought “oh, whatever”, didn’t consider reporting it, and then you were surprised that they managed to follow your literal tracks? Sometimes I really can’t.

„Didn‘t See anything“ – Bro, you destroyed the rim 😅🫣

Talk to your insurance. The invoice… I mean, does it have your name, credentials, etc.? Where did they get that?
