That seems rather expensive for those meals but surely you could have seen this on the menu
Sethic on
No. That seems excessive for what you got.

Bit expensive but then I assume you ended up in a touristy place, and not a local restaurant. But still, even at a local restaurant that looks like €48 of food and drinks.

Have you checked the reviews?

So about €5 each for the beers and €25 for the meals. This is not cheap but not excessively expensive either.

Tja. 25 euro per main dish and 5-7 euro for “special” beers and you are there he.
I don’t like it, but that’s how it is nowadays.
Frying-Dutchman- on
In a brothel this is acceptable.
Murmurmira on
That looks like a 22 euro dish, plus beer, so 50-54 euro total. Anything more was a tourist surcharge
Calm-Author-5321 on
the saussage meal about 20 euro, the stew if belgian style about 25 euro, the beers 4-5 euro a piece
So you probably paid a premium for the location but also not that far out there.

holy scam

Yes. These are the prices now.

Expensive but not “scammy” expensive, was it in a very touristic place ?

No, clear tourist trap – in Brussels I imagine ? Looks pretty crappy as well.
Should have been 40-ish and better / bigger portions

Just the stew? No fries? No vegetables? That’s pretty weird IMO.

People saying the prices are too high are out of touch old farts, nowadays these prices are completely normal! Hope you enjoyed it.

20-25€ for a main course and 6-8€ for a heavy beer, those are restaurant prices allright.
I see you went with pork again.

Is it normal? No. But what would you define as normal?
Is it value for money? Absolutely not. 😉

I paid 22 pound for a pizza margarita and 8 pounds for a pint in Scotland. I think you got of quite cheap for a tourist trap.
VizslaFellaRIB on
There’s definitly cheaper places Where you can get similar food
Suffolke on
Well if the price of the items add up to 61€, I guess it’s normal.
Anyway, that’s 5-6€ for each beer and 24-25€ per meals, which is a bit expensive for carbonades and fries, I guess, and sausages and some kind of stoemp, but nothing outrageous if it’s decently good.
Subject_Edge3958 on
It would depend on the place. A tourist place it will be around that another place no. The only thing I find really weird is that the stew is missing fries or a small salad
bsensikimori on
Overpriced for that if the stew isn’t something very superb.
If it’s regular stoofvlees, yeah, overpaid

Expensive yes, normal?… Depends on where you went. In a tourist trap in Bruges or Brussels… Yes, it’s normal.
OkayTimeForPlanC on
On the upper end but not crazy. Belgium is very expensive when it comes to restaurants, especially Belgian/French-styled brasseries who think they are restaurants, like this one i presume.
Rolifant on
Yes that is fairly normal nowadays. There is a lot of very average, overpriced food at the lower end of the restaurant industry.
