Such d**kheads. I don’t know anything about the law here, but when I worked at a restaurant my bosses gave us freebies and discounts when we visited with friends and family. On their own accord. And nobody got poorer, my bosses simply didn’t make much profit on us, and they were fine with it! So I have no excuses for Weatherspoon’s corporate senseless zombies.
If the policy is staff discount only for parties of 4 or less, why didn’t the EPOS system reject the discount when they tried to apply it to a party of 7?
Every stage of this was handled terribly by wetherspoons. Would have been so easy to just get on with it, but no, drag him through a tribunal for <£20. Waste of everyone’s time and energy.
