D66 is enjoying its momentum, and professional bettors are betting that Rob Jetten will become PM.
If D66 gains the most seats, Rob will be the first openly gay PM in the Netherlands. His fiancé is an Argentine Olympic hockey player, so if Rob becomes PM, the Netherlands will have two Argentines as its queen and first spouse.

D66 has always been the party of know it all intellectuals. It’s voter base consists of IT professionals, consultants, yuppies and students. That Rob Jetten is polling this good is therefore quite surprising.

D66 is winning, because it’s currently copying populist-right rhetoric. That’s not the way to go, imho. You will eventually lose that battle. But even more important, you’re selling out your own principles and beliefs. The worst of it all, is that Jetten (D66 leader) is now helping to further normalize far-right PVV. He doesn’t even rule out governing with JA21, which is basically the same as PVV, but dressed in slightly better suits.
I usually vote D66 in our national elections, but I think I’ll go with Volt tomorrow, even though I’m not a fan of small parties. We have too many of those in our Parliament. But I just can’t approve of the current direction of D66. Need to steer clear from right-wing populism.

People always vote for the party that is winning in polls. With that in mind I think there is a real chance we will have a prime minister Jetten, which is fine by me.
