In the Netherlands this has been predicted for decades. Yet investments and progress are incredibly slow. Some companies are denied access to the grid because it’s full. Imagine investing in an new factory and after it’s completely build you get no power. They didn’t check beforehand because a few years ago it was unheard of that you can’t get access to the power grid. There is a waiting list of 14000 companies.
Meanwhile households sometimes have to pay during peak sun hours to deliver energy back into the system, because it can’t handle it. People are disabling their solar panels because they cost money.
