Can someone tell me, practically what will happen?
We can’t inprison him forever, and we don’t deport to Afghanistan, so once this person serves his sentence, then what? He’s back on the streets? I assume the council will have to house him as well?

At what point do we recognise the threshold for wholesale acceptance of illegal immigrants has been breached.
At the point, humanitarian principles, although well meaning, have begun to undermine the practical need to preserve social stability and intragroup cohesion.
I believe we are at the stage now, where reformation of the immigration system is necessary, regardless of which political party is in power.
