Based on prior precedent with investment, it’ll pull out in a year or two. The only question is if it will be nimbyism or some ill thought out government policy causing it.

I’ll believe it when there’s actual operating data centres.
It’s easy to “announce investment” without actually spending anything, and equally easy to abandon the building without actually spending that much money (see all the factories “announced” during Trumps first term).
There are only two options here for me
1) energy costs are about to absolutely rocket even more
2) we allow our manufacturing SMRs to go full swing and become world leaders in a much needed technology during higher demands on failing infrastructure.
I would suggest people take the time to read the article before making confidently wrong assumptions
We should throw them into the sea. They’re making our power costs too high.
They’re taking us for a ride and we’re falling for it
Wonderful.
So does this mean that U.K. domestic energy customers, already hard pressed by high energy prices will increasingly have to compete with a proliferation of immensely energy hungry new data centres??
Sorry bro someone saw a badger living in that site 2 years ago so you cant build on it for 20 years now
