“The prime minister’s official spokesperson guaranteed that Rachel Reeves will deliver the Budget on 26 November.”
I have a funny feeling she won’t be delivering the autumn budget.

Everybody is jumping the gun here. Just wait for the emails to be released.
From Peter Walker: “Emails will be out later – between lettings agent and Reeves’ husband. The guidance is that this will be good news for Reeves’ case.”

This has been the main news on the radio all day. She rented her house out while she was in downing street. Who cares. Hardly the most important thing happening in the world right now.

Would be hilarious if it was something that works in her favour!

omg is this really what we’re doing worrying about rental arrangements of every minister whilst the opposition takes money from the usa and russia to destroy our country

Fundamentally I give less of a shit about Reeves’ earning what is a trifling amount of money in a way that breaks the rules compared to how much illicit money our politicians ‘legally’ earn through lobbying and networking. A poorly set up rental agreement has significantly less impact on our politics than [the millions given away in government contracts following lobbying efforts by those same companies](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/oct/26/companies-that-donated-to-labour-awarded-138m-in-contracts-study-finds).
But seeing that centrists’ love to obsess over how well they *follow the rules*, and defending that lobbying by insisting it’s *technically not breaking the rules*, they can’t really act aghast when they’re criticised when they *do* end up breaking those rules.

She’s thrown her husband under the bus. Politics is a dirty game.

The ethics adviser got Rayner sacked. Maybe he can do the same for Reeves. Sacking her would be the kindest thing. She’s woefully out of her depth as Chancellor. I can’t stand to see her crying in the Commons again. Get her gone.

Game over. Damage limitation just delay the inevitable. Will go the same way Rayner went.
