Abbiamo abbinato oltre 150 volontari a quasi 400 donatori!

These messages are from a Signal group of donors supporting one of our Latin American volunteers. This volunteer has been in Ukraine for a long time, got badly wounded, recovered and is now back in the fight. As you can see, his team is deploying soon to one of the worst areas of the front – Pokrovsk. He asked his donor group if they could help fund an anti-drone device. Donors came through and he was able to purchase the item. The better equipped soldiers are, the better their chance of survival.

By signing up to be a donor, you are directly putting funds into the hands of verified defenders, most of whom are foreign volunteer fighters. This allows them to buy critical gear or cover team living expenses. It seems crazy to think that after nearly 4 years, soldiers still need to self fund many items but that’s the reality on the ground. Also, gear gets damaged or lost and needs replacing, vehicles need constant maintenance and gas, soldiers need to pay rent for safe houses, etc. etc. Most of the soldiers we support are foreigners, many coming from humble economic backgrounds whose units are sometimes underfunded.

Protect a Volunteer matches several donors to support one soldier or team via the Signal app. This allows you to communicate directly with the soldier. You can offer one time or periodic larger donations or monthly support.

If interested, please fill out our [donor sign up form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd22e1uJD_SRxg-x5FC3dxDWwhDGsoJjhHosYj-fpK0BIysTQ/viewform) and our team will be in touch soon!

Just popping in to say that I 1000% recommend becoming a sponsor. I know a bunch of PAV guys just through the work I do, but I finally became a sponsor myself, too, a few months ago. The guy I sponsor isn’t on Reddit, but he is flat-out awesome. We’ve actually become friends. We have big hiking plans for after the war.

The support sponsors provide is *real*. It makes a real difference for them.

And you might find yourself with a very cool, wildly interesting new friend.
