      >Britain’s leading AI institute has announced a new mission to help protect the nation from cyber-attacks on infrastructure, including energy, transport and utilities, after it was embroiled in [allegations](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/aug/10/staff-alan-turing-institute-ai-complain-watchdog) of toxic work culture and the chief executive [resigned](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/sep/04/head-of-alan-turing-institute-jean-innes-resigns) amid ministerial pressure.

I see that killing Turing wasn’t enough for the UK and we have to keep dragging his name though the mud.

The Alan Turing Institute is an enormous waste of public money. It massively (_MASSIVELY_) missed the boat for large language models, and has offered almost nothing.

I think it might have the biggest ratio I’ve ever seen of “impressive people” to “impressive results”.
