Meteor lacks integration with types of jets Ukraine has and that is not something easily done for air to air missiles. In the past creative solutions have been found for several air to ground weapons (preprogrammed and release somewhere close enough), but that does not really work for air to air missiles you need the aircraft radar to ‘talk’ to the missiles for locking and initial guidance. Ukraine needs Gripen, Eurofighters or Rafale to use them. At this point meteor hasn’t even been integrated into F-16 or F-35 even though it should be possible to do it. Americans are just not eager to integrate EU weapons on their platforms because money, so they stall and delay as much as possible hoping to sell AMRAAM instead…
