At this rate, Czech and Slovak women will have nothing to live on.

The decree law which tries to justify the age verification system is from the conservative and neo-fascist Meloni government: article 13-bis of the Caivano Decree, approved in 2023 (Meloni government).

      >[1.](https://www.gazzettaufficiale.it/eli/id/2023/11/14/23A06292/sg) Minors are prohibited from accessing pornographic content, as it undermines their dignity and compromises their physical and mental well-being, constituting a public health problem.

    4. >AGCOM published an initial list of around 50 websites which will be subject to the stringent new rules, including well-known sites such as PornHub, YourPorn and OnlyFans, with the list set to be updated over time.

Only a billion to go /S

VPNs and shady websites gonna go stonks.

What do they have against porn? What’s so wrong with it?

We have 90s and 00s kids that watched porn and we came out as normal as the rest of the generations. We even watched much worse stuff then porn. People using Lime or some other P2P tools probably came upon some horrible stuff that others named “porn.”

    6. This is going to end up in the EU courts. Also they are not giving sites much time to understand what this means.

    7. CrazyWriterHippo on

No, not to prevent minors. It is to exert control over the adult population.

Oh look, another decree that will be definitely slapped down by EU courts or even just Lazio’s TAR.

In other totally unrelated news, the Netherlands has seen a second sudden rise in porn usage this year.

This is going to be global soon. Politicians are terrified of how much influence the Internet is haveing on people and this is the start of controlling it.

The last government Berlusconi was ever part of is banning porn. What a disgrace to Berlusconi’s legacy

    12. TheRealPoruks on

I really don’t see an issue with this. You have to verify your id to gamble, don’t see why porn would be any different. It’s something that we don’t want kids accessing

    13. UncleObli on

Just subscribed to Mullvad VPN, it’s up to parents to prevent children from accessing porn sites, this is about controlling the adults more than anything.

It’s that easy. Don’t look at porn my fellow males. Let’s rise up together

It’s the same country and government that briefly banned ChatGPT because of ‘privacy concerns’.. what do you expect?

Knowing how they do this here, changing your DNS to Google or Cloudflare will suffice to bypass the block lmao.

Would it be more valuable and impactful to educate parents on parental control tools instead?

    18. lateformyfuneral on

Isn’t a better alternative to mandate internet companies give parents better controls? I’ve seen kid-friendly SIM cards sold elsewhere where you can block adult websites at the source.

It will be interesting to see how it will be implemented. If they will leave it up to the platforms to find a 3rd party provider to do the verification or if it will be done through a government app (maybe similar to what the EU is currently testing, with zero knowledge proof). Also, if I recall correctly Italy was one of the 5 first nations in the EU set to test this exact thing (Greece has also started implementing something similar).

    20. ImprobableTip on

With our an ulterior motive I cannot, by any means see that porn is a priority problem ANYWHERE in EU!!

Make it make sense without the reason being “government wants to spy” kinda answering..
