Renault 5 is breaking records because it’s small, affordable and cheerful, therefore desirable. Majority of other EVs are way too expensive and unnecessarily overengineered.
good. If EU can start pushing out affordable EV-s on the low end, it will start building up a defensible position vs imports. High-end is already well covered by EU alternatives.
The 5 is proof you can make a good EV hatchback and that people will buy it.
EVs don’t have to be crossover/CSUVs to fit decent range and 5 people into.
Meanwhile VW killed off their electric golf and Up for reasons?
Good price, nice looking car and apparently a pretty decent vehicle too. If i didn’t need more space and towing capacity i might buy one too.
German car makers should sit down and take notes
Electric cars will not save the environment nor the cities from traffic, pollution etc.
Electric cars are here to save the car industry. We should be rejoicing about proper public transport infrastrcuture, electric trains powered by renewable sources, etc.
Electric cars are better than ICE cars only in that they don’t produce exhaust smoke. But they do still take a lot of energy to manufacture and they still use tires which are a MAJOR pollutant and one of the main sources of microplastics.
