L’Irlanda è al 4° posto a livello mondiale per l’utilizzo dell’intelligenza artificiale secondo un nuovo rapporto di Microsoft: “AI Diffusion Report: Where AI is most used, development and build”
The ranking of Ireland at 4th globally for AI usage is a significant indicator of high AI diffusion within their workforce.
It shows that access to, and willingness to use, generative AI tools (like the ones used to help write this very comment!) is extremely high there.
📊 Quick Facts from the Microsoft Report:
Ranking: 4th (41.7% of the working-age population using AI).
The Difference: This ranking is about usage/adoption (diffusion), not necessarily about developing frontier AI models. They are great consumers of the tech.
Why Ireland? Strong access to technology, good education systems, and generally tech-savvy policies likely drive this rapid integration.
It seems the Republic is quickly becoming a key adopter in the new AI economy.

I’m so happy I left corporate behind.

This doesn’t tell us much without knowing what kinds of AI are being used. Most people I know seem to use LLMs predominantly, whereas I know comparitavely fewer people that generate images or videos. The only trend seems to be that more affluent nations rank higher than poorer ones.

Huh AI bros must be creaming themselves here!
When will this hype end… Thanks so much for increasing prices of GPUs, SSDs, DDR 4 and 5 RAM sticks.

It’s hard not to have AI all over your tech, you Google something now and it’s a gamble as to whether or not it’s going to give you proper information in the AI feature at the top. Also why is the AI above all other regular searches. It’s like when some smooth-brained fuck asks Grok on Twitter, it feels like a losing battle if you want to avoid AI because of how hard it’s being pushed on the general public. I wish they’d realise the general population don’t need AI, it should be for professional fields which it can make a difference (small differential diagnosis to catch potential issues early).

I would bet my bollox a significant amount of that “Usage” is just forced AI.
Everything has an air compenent now. Companies are not allowed you to not use it, because they’ve sold it as a great thing to investors.

It’s the leaded petrol of software, the issues it’s going to induce down the line are staggering even if it ostensibly solves problems today.

A lot of the big multinationals are requiring employees to use AI. That on its own will put Ireland high in the rankings.

That’s not something to be proud of.
