      >But in an email sent to the pupil’s mum, a police officer confirmed they would not be taking any further action against the youths involved.

      >In their message, they said: “I have discussed the report with my sergeant who has made the decision that the school will be the most appropriate agency to deal with the assault, and the police investigation will not be investigated any further due to the age of the people involved and it taking place on school premises.”

Obviously I’m not a legal professional or a law enforcement professional but I feel like someone being beaten to the point of hospitalisation by a group of organised youths probably merits action by the police. It goes well beyond a regular scrap.

I’ve seen the video and I have no idea how they came to that decision.

And people wonder why the police are not respected anymore…

It’s just a wee spot of ultra violence, nothing for the police to worry about.

I dread to think what these kids will turn into as adults.

Honestly looks like there could be a racial element involved. Hate to type that age old comment but…if the situation was reversed there would be massive outrage.

Hardly shocking knife crime is so high when kids can get away with a serious gang beatings with zero punishment from the police.

Sending an email rather than actually talking to the parents and victim is a massive pussy move. Pretty awesome it leaves a paper trail of incompetence though

We had one member of school stabbed and another assaulted- separate incidents, first one Police came out and took statements then nothing, second one they took 3 weeks to attend.

Permanently suspend every child involved in the attack! That is absolutely disgusting behaviour and parents will let their kids get away with it because of the mindset “would rather it be them than my child” schools need to get tougher because the way of life within education is changing rapidly and needless to say people won’t send their kids to a place for 7-8 hours just for their child to be violently assaulted and have no form of protection!

Of course. I was stabbed in the eye with a sharpened piece of wood back in 1995 by a school bully, a month before our GCSES were due to start. The police did nothing, and the school just suspended him so that he could still do his GCSES, as they felt it would be unfair on him to lose out, despite the fact that I couldn’t see out of my eye for another two weeks.
