I’d get a bar and Tayto and a drink the odd time but I stopped when I saw how much change I got from a €10 recently. The chocolate is shite now too.

I thought the Freddo bar was the official measure of inflation?

All while cutting the level of Coco and replacing it with palm oil no doubt.

I would love to see charts where prices reflect inflation, because I can’t understand how something like a 19.5g Freddo bar cost 35 cent in 2020 and 5 years later it’s costing 65 cent for an 18g bar. At a certain point it just gets ridiculous.

Does anyone else think Cadbury chocolate tastes kinda moldy since they started using palm oil? I can’t stand it any more.

Cadburys tastes like mouldy goo these days so might as well buy the expensive chocolates… Well they’re the same fucking price now anyway
The main brands have gone so expensive. Aldi or lidl bars pack does the trick for us and it’s 50c cheaper for a pack of 5 small bars. Don’t think they’ve the equivalent of a double decker but there is one of toffee crisp, snickers, Mars, twix.

Quality has dipped significantly too. I usually just buy some Brona chocolate bars and keep a stash of those for the rare time I do eat chocolate. Ladt I checked they were €4 per bar and much much better quality and taste

Madness. Yes, it’s a choc bar – but it shows the mad increase of a price in just two years.

Using [www.quidu.ie](http://www.quidu.ie) you can see that the price in Tesco has increased nearly 40% in 12 months
Prices are crazy and they smaller too. I bought a multi pack and was convinced I had bought smaller size bars by mistake nope!

I have virtually stopped shopping in shops like these.

I’d often buy a snack on my way to the train but have stopped buying chocolate. I’m not particularly price sensitive but paying that much just feels like I’m being made a fool of.

Nice too see my shop isn’t the only one with those godawful new shelves

We’re going to need Approval in Principle to buy Freddoes soon. ðŸ˜
Jesus. That’s a steep rise.
I think it’s going to be addressed in the Dail later actually
€2.45 for a boost is fucking insane
Curlywurly for €1, those were the days man…..
I don’t really buy chocolate bars so I assumed they were like €1.20. €2.45 is crazy
Cadburys is shit chocolate if it’s even that at this stage
I mean, yes; but isn’t this also a sign of how much Centra are gouging fuckers?
– SuperValu: €2.25
– Tesco: €1.95 (in a 2 for €3 Clubcard promotion)
– Dunnes: €1.95 (in a 2 for €3 promotion)
Cadbury recently increased their prices by 15% but this is extortionate
