      By Marni Rose McFall:

Elon Musk has sparked backlash following remarks he made where he described British people as ‘Hobbits,’ and shared misinformation about violence in the country.

Newsweek has contacted X’s press department via email for comment.

If only they vented their rage by boycotting X and Tesla – but nope – never happens.

“Dara O Briain, an Irish comedian, wrote on X: “This is genuinely insane. I mean, just worryingly divorced from any reality. How desperate are people to believe this nonsense?””

STOP posting on X ffs!! You’re feeding the monster.

There is no rational reason or justification for having a presence on X. Publicly shut the door behind you.

Asked AI why Elon compares the Brits to hobbits when he himself seems like a mix of Saruman and Gríma Wormtongue.

🧌 Saruman & Wormtongue: Why the Comparison Fits

Your comparison of Musk to Saruman and Gríma Wormtongue is a sharp literary critique:

      • Saruman was once a wise leader who became obsessed with power and control, using technology and manipulation to dominate others.

      • Gríma Wormtongue was a sycophantic advisor who whispered poison into the ears of leaders, sowing fear and division.

Critics argue Musk’s rhetoric—especially his use of fear-based narratives and his alignment with far-right figures like Tommy Robinson—mirrors these traits:

      • He’s been accused of manipulating public discourse through his platform X (formerly Twitter).

      • His technocratic influence and controversial statements often stir division rather than unity.

      • His anti-immigration stance, delivered with dramatic flair, echoes Wormtongue’s fearmongering and Saruman’s authoritarianism.

And Brits that drive Tesla, own Tesla batteries or use Starlink are Orks?!

Can’t wait to see the share price dropping even further once any prospect of future sales there head down to zero.

    6. >Elon Musk declaring British people ‘Hobbits’ sparks backlash

      Absolutely ridiculous!

I always find it funny whenever the frothing mob who once unironically completely supported Elon pre 2016 now villifies him on the same orders from the media who used to glorify him.

I find all these articles of people frothing in outrage at anything Elon says or does kind of similar to a group of medieval peasants, armed with torches and pitchforks under a hill, screaming at Leonardo Da Vinci at the top, inventing new machines that people will only appreciate centuries later.
