You are never getting that state pension if you worked for it.

It’s not really a secret that basically no European country will be able to afford to pay for a state pension in the coming decades. Pension auto enrollment needed to be brought in 10 years ago to address this, not delayed at the whims of employers

Start a pension now lads. If your work offers it, do it. If it doesn’t, look at setting up a private one and doing voluntary contributions once a year.
It’s the most cost efficient method of investing this country offers.
