Radio Free Europe was what Hungarians listened to during the Soviet-backed dictatorship, when they wanted something other than propaganda. It was one way the United States supported the people living under Russian control during the Cold War.
And now Trump is shitting all over this. Putin must be very happy.
One should notice all Donny boy’s goons are totally crooked and unqualified and they are all ‘acting’ whatever position as they known even the senate they control would not back them to lawfully occupy any position of power.
Its not an important news channel here now, but I am incredibly sad. My grandfather and the whole family listened to Szabad Európa when they were young behind the Iron Curtain, when it was the only free channel from where they could get the real news about the world…. what a shame is this, honestly.
The biggest news is that the US funded an EU news piece. The quicker that ends the better. The EU itself should do that

Tbh I think this is a good thing. There is no reason to have a US state-funded news network in Europe, we should be doing that ourselves. The US is not a realiable partner anymore, and neither are they the place to look for guidance on how to have a liberal democracy. The less one sided ties we have here in Europe the more we maybe finally realise that the only way to withstand in this world is together.
I see the Orban delegation in Washington are not wasting their time…

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty was literally a CIA funded and operated organisation to spread propaganda. While it did end up beneficial for Eastern Europe, it was a psyop nonetheless.
