    1. Disappointed there’s no mention of Team17 and the Worms franchise

… Annual push for more support, they been doing this for twenty years.

They already benefit by £250M per year from the Video Game Tax Regime.

GTA 6 is principally being made in Dundee and Edinburgh by Rockstar North.

Still, good to see attention being focused on places outside London.

Fudging the truth a bit with “Grand Theft Auto VI is developed by the Rockstar Leeds studio”.

Rockstar North in Edinburgh is famously the lead GTA studio, with contributions from the other studios.

I know its not in Yorkshire, but really looking forward to Hello Games new project Light No Fire.

Creative Assembly is also set to announce some new AAA games this December, I think its meant to be a Alien Isolation 2, a new historical Total War, and a rumoured 40k game.

Thank goodness you’re here is quite frankly one of the best games i’ve played recently. it’s amazing and i hope the creators go on to do much more!
Also, no mention of Team 17?

A bigger industry than the film industry. We should be pumping money into it and protecting British studios from takeover.

100 Star Games (founded by the people who founded Rocksteady) have the potential to be really big (considering the levels of talent they have). We should be supporting the likes of them

BBC posting this a day after r* gets in shit for union busting and whilst sumos doing layoffs (again) is comically bad timing.

I grew up in South Kirkby, for a backwards mining village best known because Jimmy Saville used to work in the pit there it’s weirdly full of globally famous musicians these days.

I remember seeing Robbie Williams stage crew once at the kebab shop on the green and you’ll get people on Facebook saying stuff like “lady Gaga’s helicopter just landed”

Had no idea it had a gaming industry too lol.

And, as someone that worked at a Yorkshire game studio a few years ago, and still works in games now, the salary is 1/3 to 1/2 what you can earn as a software developer outside of games.

Hell, when I worked up North some of the devs including myself were earning little more than minimum wage. Disgusting, tbh, and it’s why all the talent ends up quitting.

Used to live in Ossett and remembered always going past Team 17’s offices thinking it was a weird place for a gaming studio to be, just a random little market town.

I’m now equally surprised to learn that Rockstar has a presence in Leeds
