In all my years holidaying/studying & working in Europe, ive never once seen a kid wearing reflective bibs on their way to school. Such a sad state of affairs that we feel its necessary to encourage kids wearing them.

That is fucking grim when it’s followed by

      >The population here has grown, more houses have been built, and still the same 60 km/h sign stands in the middle of our estates. We want our children to learn how to walk safely in their own community.

Yeah, it’s not the cars blasting through there at a kilometer a minute, no, we need to teach the children not to be killed.

      Christ that’s grim.

That’s exactly why you need cycle lanes and redesigns. The place you live in was a rural hamlet 20 years ago and still has the 60km/h roads of a rural hamlet even though it’s now home to a community. It needs cycle infrastructure and a 30km/h speed limit. Those kids should be able to walk and preferably cycle to school without fear of cars.

Yes, we need 30 km / h limit in towns / cities.

But we need bypasses as well. I shouldn’t need to go through every random village going from A to B.
