Idk its all kind of silly I think alot of leaders know that there isn’t a way to stop climate change without de industrialization.
We should probably accept the current rate of change and focus on geo engineering and adaptability.

Even if Europe hits net zero it’s not going to stop climate change, we need everyone else to do it too. When are we going to admit that all of this is pointlessly hamstringing ourselves as long as America, India and china aren’t on board? And that’s before even considering Africa, Nigeria alone will have a bigger population than the entire EU.
It seems like we’re just pissing directly into the wind, if it’s not going to make any meaningful difference what’s the point?

The absolute hypocrisy of us as we refuse to reform agriculture and look for getouts from the EU on nitrates.

Love how the Taoiseach flew across the world to give a big speech on climate change, and meanwhile his home county of Cork just had it’s worst ecological disaster ever with the huge fish kill in the river Blackwater, and his government has barely spoken about it nor is there any hope that those responsible for the disaster will be held accountable.

THey know it’s a farce at this point. Why go?
If anything they do less damage to the environment by not travelling to it.

Its rich for them to talk about climate change when they are trying to turn Europe into a marauding Nazi war machine for Israel.
Do they think there are “green” varieties of missiles and jets or are they big into the eugenics of it and want to save the climate with untold levels of mass murder?

this is how it is when we collectively outsource our decision making to “leaders” who prove themselves to be little more than self-interested power-hungry status-seekers to a one, who have no desire to “lead” anything, let alone to actually work for the benefit of humanity.
these summits are just backslapping circuses for that one cohort of mostly middle aged white men “leaders” who think they are the smartest and most rational people on the planet just because they managed to work the outdated and top-heavy electoral “democratic” systems, but who are actually doing so much damage to human society and the planetary environment through their pig-headed stupidity because all they’re interested in is chasing kudos from the rest of their stuffed-shirt authoritarian pals.
“leaders” are holding us back from truly progressing humanity.

Events like COP and Davos no longer wield the influence their attendees like to imagine. They have become gatherings where lesser powers seek proximity to real influence, not where it is exercised. Increasingly, those who hold true power avoid these events (especially COP, since agreeing to its demands often means surrendering strategic national autonomy).
