8 novembre 1847. Abraham (Bram) Stoker nasce a Dublino, in Irlanda. La sua opera più famosa, Dracula (1897), si ispirava alle leggende della Transilvania, al folklore dell’Europa centrale e alle tradizioni gotiche della Gran Bretagna e del continente, fondendole in una delle opere letterarie più durature d’Europa.

When Stoker wrote Dracula, Transylvania was part of Hungary. The picture features Hungarian actor Béla Lugosi playing the title character in the 1931 Hollywood film Dracula, arguably the most famous adaptation of the novel ever.
