It’s interesting that the jury deliberated on this for the longest time in English legal history. It means they did not take the decision lightly. Holding a healthcare professional criminally responsible for failings is a really big deal and potentially sets a precedent for not accepting mistakes. As horrific as the case is I hope that the jury and legal teams did their due diligence; which it sounds like they did.
