I’m convinced the developments of algorithms were the worst thing to ever happen to the internet. It felt like the internet was more of a force for good for society when they weren’t as advanced as they are today.
Twitter doesn’t flag pro-self harm and eating disorder accounts as “adult only” so you can still see it on accounts without age verification. They literally only applied it to porn.
It’s just such a fucked up priority for OSA enforcement that anything even slightly sexual is vigorously regulated, but stuff that can and has led kids to dying is being sidelined. They clearly have the means! Why aren’t they pushing for it in places where kids lives are actually at risk?
To be fair, I’m 30 and all I’ve seen in all media is earring disorder content. Brief moment in 2015 when we were all woke when people stopped giving a shit about weight, then straight back to the 90s and millennium after 2016
