Nothing will get done. Eventually, these workers could get fired. Meaning fewer care workers per capita. One mistake. Fewer care workers as a result of dismissal.
Many redditors are very young, and may not understand the implications of removing trained care workers who’ve made a single mistake, only to recruit more of the same from other countries who are vulnerable to the same mistakes?

I should think so too! This was consistent and repetitive abuse. I know they are underpaid and understaffed and the client group is challenging, but that doesn’t give anyone carte blanche to attack vulnerable people.

Care staff abusing vulnerable people and then ending up in court, Police calling for immigrants to be abused and murdered ending up on fast-track dismissals… I think the BBC is doing some great work here and it’s well worth paying the license fee for.

The only time I’ve needed therapy, which I wasn’t able to get unfortunately, I had to go through the waiting list and saw assistants that I could only describe as hugely narcissistic and inept of empathy. They only cared to do the absolute minimum of what was expected. They had to remove their page from Google as the reviews were horrific. It’s a shame as there’s a lot of good staff in mental health services.
