Yeah. Let’s f**king age and die poor behind our well closed walls. What a clever vision of the future.

Germany, Sweden, Canada all regretted their experiments with mass migration from poor countries to “grow” their economies (while crashing GDP/person and exploding house prices). Spaniards somehow thought they were different.

The working class is Spain is f*cked, salaries are several years behind inflation. Housing is expensive and scarce in the main cities. Immigration would help in those areas where population is declining but its barely the case, they all go to the the 4 mains cities. The only ones thar are winning are those businesses that are hiring for €1200 a month and dont need to increase it because there will always be someone desperate enough to take the job.

Spain recieves many highly educated migrants from South America, who still work for relatively low wages, hence the “economic miracle” part. It’s not the same as nations who think refugees will grow their economies, so Spanish centrists could attempt some sort of very straightforward campaign of showing what those migrants actually do.
Boats are a different issue of course. The centrists should figure out if tightening asylum criteria could help protect their profitable immigration. That’s not a simple question though.

Yep, the migrants tend to be extremely far right and obsessed with Franco…

So essentially, they are importing cheap labor to exploit, often without any legal status. This depresses wages for everyone. The rich will claim these are needed, which maybe they are. But the real issues of inequality are being ignored. Spanish people see they are worse off than their parents. The right will point to immigrants as the cause and not the exploitation by the wealthy. The right will also keep importing labor, because it depresses wages, gives them an easily exploitable workforce, and gives them a boogeyman to point to.
