Judge Carol Anne Coolican heard the matter has been before the court on 12 separate occasions since the proceedings were first initiated and that the council is anxious to progress matters.
The court was told Ms Harty Kett was offered a four bed council house in Askeaton in 2019 which she refused. In her evidence, the defendant maintained that she wants to remain living in Rathkeale with her children.
Offered a 4 bed Accom and refused. I’m sure her tribe can support her because the state shouldn’t have to.
Was offered a four bedroom house but refused it. Jesus wept. Me and my partner work full time and we can barely afford a 3 bedroom house, but here’s this clown turning down a 4 bedroom house and then claiming she has nowhere to go. Fuck off.
Imagine being offered a four bed council house… and saying no?! I understand when you’re being offered somewhere on the other side of the country miles away from your support network, but Askeaton is a 15 minute drive from Rathkeale!

This nonsense of “refusing council accommodation” cos its not in your ideal location needs to get crushed. If you are buying or renting privately then you can choose from where you can afford, if you’re asking for freebies then you take what you’re offered or get to the back of the queue.
Offered a house and refused because she wants to stay in Rathkeale! If you want to stay, then buy or rent a place. The council having to go to court twelve times and still no end to the situation is bananas. She’s parked illegally and should be towed to the impound lot.
Isn’t a lot of accommodation in Rathkeale owned by travelers who live in England and arrive back a few weeks of the year? The rest of the year it’s locked up and empty

I’m a joint owner of a property which we purchased 2 years ago. We paid almost 100 euro extra this year on our property tax just because we have the luxury of owning the house. Oh ! And we both work 39 hour weeks and got no government help when purchasing. The sense of entitlements from people that drain the system is laughable
