It’s honestly insane he’s the FBI director. One of the least intelligent people in the whole US. Never seen someone so out of their depth
This is where we all need to be asking ourselves what we were doing when the Tories were wining and dining Russian oligarchs, letting them go wherever they wanted as long as the money kept flowing. And why we’ve allowed ourselves to become so dependent on the US for defense.
Kash Patel is ridiculous. He has no idea what’s going on with anything. He has no understanding of how important cooperation between the Five Eyes countries is as far as security. But none of that matters because Trump and everyone around him thinks that the US should not be liaising even with its allies.
The point is, Trump is who he is. Patel is who he is. But we’ve known for many years that there are increasing threats from the likes of Russia and China and we’ve welcomed them in. Also, our decision to vote time and time again for austerity has left our economy stagnant and us dependent on Russian and Chinese money, regardless of Trump and Patel.
It must be absolutely wild for our long serving distinguished non-political civil servants to meet their American counterparts nowadays and discover they’re an F list celebrity who gave $1000 to the Trump campaign once.
Not the first time the US intelligence apparatus has screwed over the UK, and it won’t be the last.
